SAFE TRAVEL TO HAWAII

The Pre-travel testing option will allow leisure travelers an alternative to Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine. Please review all Hawaii state government travel guidance and create an account and fill out the mandatory Safe Travels application. State of Hawaii Trusted Testing and Travel Partners:

The state of Hawaii will ONLY accept pre-travel test results from Trusted Testing and Travel Partners, Click here for list of trusted testing and travel partners.

Each traveler to Hawaii must be individually registered in the state of Hawaii Safe Travel online database prior to arrival at Honolulu Airport.  Each traveler is also responsible for uploading test results in their Safe Travels account once received. Failure to register will result in delays at the airport and will require a 14-day quarantine. 

Beginning 24 November, travelers must have their negative test results prior to departing for the Hawaiian islands as an alternative to Hawaii's mandatory 14-day quarantine. If you are not able to show a negative test from one of the approved sources that was taken within the 72-hour period prior to departure, the state of Hawaii will require 14-day quarantine inside your hotel guestroom upon arrival.  You will not be allowed to re-test upon arriving in Hawaii.  Those with test results in a pending status will be required to quarantine in their hotel guestroom for the state of Hawaii's 14-day quarantine.

Military Official Travelers (PCS, TDY, etc.):

a.   The US Military still requires active duty Service Members to complete a 14-day restricted movement upon arrival in Hawaii.

b.   Arriving DOD Civilians and Contracts fall under Hawaii State jurisdiction and are not subject to the Military 14-day restricted movement if they arrive with a negative pre-travel test from a Trusted Testing & Travel Partner and are enrolled in the Hawaii Safe Travels data base.

c.   Arriving active duty PCS Family members also fall under Hawaii State jurisdiction and are not subject to the Military 14-day restricted movement if they arrive with a negative pre-travel test from a Trusted Testing & Travel Partner and are enrolled in the Hawaii Safe Travels data base.

COMMITMENT TO CLEANINESS

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of both staff and guests.  On a daily basis, the Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRCs) around the world are working to ensure that they meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. Our resort’s health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.

Guests will be asked to bring their own masks to be worn at all times in common areas and to observe physically distancing guidelines.

Common Areas: We’ve increased cleaning in high-traffic areas such as public elevators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms and more.

Housekeeping: Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo thorough cleaning—with attention to high-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles.

And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every 3rd day and linen change every 6th, day.

Our Reservations Policy:  We understand that guests' upcoming stays may be impacted by concerns and travel restrictions related to coronavirus (COVID-19). In an effort to assist, cancellation fees may be waived up to 24 hours prior to arrival. *Some exclusions may apply. If your reservation is within the next 10 days and you need to modify or cancel your reservation, please email the reservation office at guestsupport@halekoa.com.

Events and Operations:    AFRCs will follow local public health guidance for modifications of events and operations in the event of a change in the Health Protection Condition (HPCON).

General Safety

Hale Koa Hotel is a military resort property, with Force Protection practices in place. You can check State.gov for the latest travel advisories that may affect this area. Also, Hawaii is, of course, surrounded by water. When you explore Waikiki Beach and other beaches around Oahu, please note the posted warning signs and take precautions.

The state owned beachfront at Hale Koa Hotel does not have a lifeguard, so be mindful of water conditions and supervise children at all times. Hale Koa Hotel has free personal flotation devices available for guests to check out from the Main Pool area, but you still need to be with young children in the ocean. Also, if you’re going into the water, whether it’s for swimming, surfing, snorkeling or other sport, always go with a buddy. It’s never advised to swim alone in any condition.
