To all of our Active Duty, Military Civilians, Retirees, and Families.
The Hale Koa Hotel Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) is excited to celebrate its 50th Anniversary throughout 2025! Located on the stunning 72-acre grounds of the historic US Army’s Fort DeRussy, the Hale Koa is one of eight oceanfront resorts on the world-famous Waikiki Beach. The hotel originally opened on 25 October 1975 with 400 guestrooms and has since grown to become the largest MWR facility in the US Military, now featuring 818 guestrooms, 640 employees, and generating $100 million in annual revenue. As an AFRC, the Hale Koa operates as a self-sustaining facility, with all operating expenses, employee salaries, and capital improvements funded through revenues generated by its operations without the use of taxpayer funds.
Each year, thousands of Military Guests visit and enjoy a first-class vacation experience at affordable prices. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated team, who are committed to serving you and are excited to welcome you to our beautiful resort.
