Kalia Road Repaving, Sidewalk and Walkway Repair Project
A repaving project along Kalia Road and the repair of sidewalks and walkways throughout Fort DeRussy is in progress with an anticipated completion of late Fall 2025.
This U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District project will be completed in three phases:
- Phase 1 - March 18, 2025 - June 2025
- Phase 2 - June 2025 - September 2025 (pending completion of Phase 1)
- Phase 3 - September 2025 – November 2025 (pending completion of Phase 2)
Work will occur Monday – Friday, between 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
During Phase 1, traffic flow on Kalia Road between Paoa Place and Maluhia Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction, eastbound and westbound, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Hale Koa Hotel, the Hale Koa Parking Garage and Surface Lot will be accessible from both Ala Moana Blvd. and Saratoga Road.
TheBus stops along Kalia Road will be relocated during construction and temporary bus stops will be available at the intersections of Ala Moana Blvd and Kalia/Ena Roads. The northbound stop will be next to the IHOP and the southbound stop will be at the northwest corner of DeRussy Park.
