Q: Who is allowed to use the Swimming Pools?

A: Access to the Swimming Pools is available to registered hotel guests only due to limited capacity and safety requirements. A reservation is required.

Q: Why are reservations required for entry to the Swimming Pools?

A: Required COVID 19 safety precautions include a limited maximum pool capacity and a reservation policy is in effect to allow guests with an opportunity to enjoy the pools.

Q: What are the hours of operation for the Swimming Pool?

A: The Main Pool is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and the Adult Pool is open Friday – Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Q: What is the capacity of the Swimming Pools?

A: For COVID 19 safety reasons, the maximum capacity is reduced as follows:

    • Main Pool 100 guests         
    • Adult Pool 55 guests (18 years and older)

Q: How many reservations are taken for each time slot?

A: Reservations will be taken until reaching the maximum occupancy per time slot.

Q: Is there a time limit for use of the Swimming Pools?

A: Yes, there is a 1 1/2 hour time limit. At the end of each time period all guests must leave the pool at maximum capacity. If capacity levels are not met, adjustments to leaving the pool may be instituted.

Q: What are the reservation times periods?

A: The four reservation time periods are:  9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Q: How do I make reservations for the Swimming Pools?

A: Reservations can be made beginning at 8 a.m. at the Main Pool Towel Stand on a first come first serve basis for same day use. Pool reservations will move to the Adult Pool Towel Stand at 9:00 a.m.

Q: How many pool reservation times may I book in one day?

A: Only one time period may be reserved per day, per registered room to allow guests the opportunity to enjoy the pool.

Q: If I sponsor multiple rooms can I book more times?

A: Yes, Reservations are taken according to room number and number of registered guests in that room.

Q: If I am running late, do I lose my reservation?

A: Guests must claim their reservation within 30 minutes of the start time, or the remainder of the time will be given to other guests.

Q: Will the slides, splash pad and children's wading pool be available?

A: The slides are open daily until 4:00 p.m. and the splash pad is open during operational hours. For COVID 19 safety reasons, the children’s wading pool will remain closed.

Q: Will the hot tub be available at the Swimming Pools?

A: For COVID 19 safety reasons, the hot tubs remain closed.

Q: How do I reserve a Cabana?

A: A cabana for a maximum of 4 persons (who are all registered hotel guests) may be reserved in advance by contacting the Front Desk or on the day of use at the Main Pool Towel Stand.

Q: Will lifeguards be available at the Swimming Pools?

A: Lifeguards will be available at the Main Pool.  All non-swimmer children must be accompanied by an adult while in the water, and will asked to wear a Coast Guard approved floatation device. There will be no lifeguard at the Adult Pool, however a Recreation Aide will be present.

Q: Will there be separate times for adult and children’s swim at the Main Pool?

A:  Yes, there may be a 10 minute break at the top of the hour for adults to swim.  This is also a time for children to reunite with parents, take a comfort break, reapply sunscreen, and for lifeguards to conduct swim tests and assess water chemistry.

Q: What is the mask/face covering policy at the Swimming Pools?

A: Masks/Face coverings are mandatory except when actively swimming. (Children 5 years and younger exempt.)  The use of mask/face coverings and social distancing is crucial to mitigate the potential spread of COVID 19.

Q: How often are pool furniture cleaned and disinfected?

A: Pool furniture is cleaned and disinfected in between guest use and during each 1 1/2 hour interval changeover.

Q: Will there be food and beverage available at the Swimming Pools?

A: Takeout is available from Bibas Courtyard Grill and Happy’s Fast & Fresh. Starting on November 13th, a la carte breakfast takeout is available from Koko at Kalia.

Q: Are coolers containing food, beverages and snacks permitted in the Swimming Pool areas?

A: Coolers are not permitted in the swimming pool areas, in addition to no outside food and beverages unless purchased from a Hale Koa Hotel eatery or AAFES Exchange. Coolers and outside food and beverages are permitted on the beach.

Q: Are beach and ocean rentals available?

A: Beach and ocean rentals are unavailable at this time.
