Q: Who is allowed to use the Swimming Pools?

A: Access to the Swimming Pools is available to registered hotel guests only due to limited capacity and safety requirements. A reservation is required.

Q: Why are reservations required for entry to the Swimming Pools?

A: Required COVID 19 safety precautions include a limited maximum pool capacity and a reservation policy is in effect to allow guests with an opportunity to enjoy the pools.

Q: What are the hours of operation for the Swimming Pool?

A: The Main Pool is open Sunday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. The Adult Pool is open Friday – Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Q: What is the capacity of the Swimming Pools?

A: For COVID 19 safety reasons, the maximum capacity is reduced as follows:

    • Main Pool 150 guests         
    • Adult Pool 55 guests (18 years and older)

Q: How many reservations are taken for each time slot?

A: Reservations will be taken until reaching the maximum occupancy per time slot.

Q: Is there a time limit for use of the Swimming Pools?

A: Yes, there is a 1 1/2 hour time limit Sunday - Thursday and a 2 hour time limit on Friday & Saturday. At the end of each time period guests must leave the pool in order for sanitizing the premises.

Q: What are the reservation times periods?

A: Reservation time periods are:  Sunday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday time periods are
8 a.m. - 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. - 3p.m., 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.,
and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Q: How do I make a reservation for the Swimming Pool?

A: A pool reservation can be reserved online or in person at the Main Pool towel stand 1- day in advance beginning at 7:30a.m. The reservation can be made up to 60 minutes prior to the specific time period (online) and based on availability. The reservation must be made with the primary guest name registered to the room. May only reserve one time slot per day, per room, and for those registered in individual's hotel reservation.

Q: How many pool reservation times may I book in one day?

A: Only one time period may be reserved per day, per registered room to allow guests the opportunity to enjoy the pool.

Q: If I sponsor multiple rooms can I book more times?

A: Yes, Reservations are taken according to room number and number of registered guests in that room.

Q: If I am running late, do I lose my reservation?

A: Guests must claim reservation within 30 minutes of the start time, or the remainder of the time will be given to other guests.

Q: Will the slides, splash pad and children's wading pool be available?

A: The slides are open Sunday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday & Saturday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.  The splash pad is open during operational hours. For COVID 19 safety reasons, the children’s wading pool will remain closed.

Q: Will the hot tub be available at the Swimming Pools?

A: For COVID 19 safety reasons, the hot tubs remain closed.

Q: How do I reserve a Cabana at the Main Pool?

A: A Cabana for a maximum of 5 persons (who are all registered guests) can be reserved at the Front Desk 1-day in advance beginning at 7:30 a.m. or at the Main Pool Towel Stand on the day of use, based on availability. Guests may make an advance reservation only once per stay. Guests are welcome to inquire at the pool towel stand for additional reservations on the day of use for available cabanas. The cabana includes 2 lounge chairs, 2 arm chairs and 1 table. Cancelation must be made before reservation period begins to avoid charge.

Q: Will lifeguards be available at the Swimming Pools?

A: Lifeguards will be available at the Main Pool.  All non-swimmer children must be accompanied by an adult while in the water, and will asked to wear a Coast Guard approved floatation device. There will be no lifeguard at the Adult Pool, however a Recreation Aide will be present.

Q: Will there be separate times for adult and children’s swim at the Main Pool?

A:  Yes, there may be a 10 minute break at the top of the hour for adults to swim.  This is also a time for children to reunite with parents, take a comfort break, reapply sunscreen, and for lifeguards to conduct swim tests and assess water chemistry.

Q: How often are pool furniture cleaned and disinfected?

A: Pool furniture is cleaned and disinfected in between guest use and during each time interval changeover.

Q: Will there be food and beverage available at the Swimming Pools?

A: Takeout is available from Bibas Courtyard Grill, Happy’s Fast & Fresh, and the Pool Snack Bar, while Koko at Kalia offers a takeout a la carte breakfast. CLICK HERE for more information.

Q: Are coolers containing food, beverages and snacks permitted in the Swimming Pool areas?

A: Coolers are not permitted in the swimming pool areas, in addition to no outside food and beverages unless purchased from a Hale Koa Hotel eatery or AAFES Exchange. Coolers and outside food and beverages are permitted on the beach.
