Pool FAQ



Q: How long will the Aquatics Complex Renovation last?

A: The renovation is anticipated to last approximately one year.


Q: What alternative swim options are available during the renovation?

A: We invite registered guests of the hotel to enjoy our second pool at the Maile Tower, or experience the invigorating Pacific Ocean and bask in the sun on the best stretch of beach on Waikiki.


Q: Will additional seating and lounging areas be accommodated at the Maile Pool?

A: Most certainly! We are expanding our seating area, creating an appealing oasis under the canopy of our banyan tree, complete with deck chairs, umbrellas and chaise lounges.


Q: What are the hours of operation for the Maile Pool?

A: Summer hours are from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, and we will resume our regular hours of 8:00 am – 8:00 pm the day after Labor Day.


Q: Will lifeguards be available at the Maile Pool?

A: Yes, there will be lifeguards at the Maile Pool


Q: Will the hot tub be available at the Maile Pool?

A: Yes, the hot tub will be available to registered hotel guests who are 18-years and older.


Q: Will there be separate times for adult and children swim?

A:  Yes, there will be a fifteen minute break at the top of the hour for adults to swim.  This is also a time for children to reunite with parents, take a comfort break, reapply sunscreen, and for lifeguards to conduct swim tests and assess water chemistry.


Q: Will there be food and beverage available at the Maile Pool?

A: Yes, food is available for takeout from Bibas Courtyard Grill and beverages will be offered by beverage severs. Lunch on the Lanai at Bibas Courtyard Grill is featured from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, in addition to our Pupu Menu (appetizers) and Happy Hour at the Bar from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.


Q: Are coolers containing food, beverages and snacks permitted in the Maile Pool area?

A: Coolers are not permitted on the pool deck, in addition to no outside food and beverages, unless purchased from any Hale Koa Hotel eatery or AAFES Exchange. Coolers and outside food and beverages are permitted in the park area and on the beach.


Q: Will water aerobics, yoga and body sculpting classes be offered during the Aquatics Comlex Renovation?

A: Once the Aquatics Complex Renovation begins, all fitness classes will be discontinued.


Q: Are beach and ocean rentals available?

A: Yes, Koa Beach Service offers an array of activities from umbrellas and lounges, surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and surf lessons just to name a few. Military discounts are available with military identification.


Q: Will non-guests (military ID card holders) be welcomed to enjoy the Maile Pool during the Aquatics Complex Renovation?

A: Due to limited capacity, access to the Maile Pool will be reserved for registered hotel guests only.
