Room rate will be based on the highest ranking occupant of the room. If an occupant is eligible for multiple rates, the highest rate will be used. Example 1, a retired 06 (Cat 3) that is also a 100% Disabled Veteran (Cat 2) will pay the category 3 rate. Example 2, a retired E7 (Cat 2) that is currently a DA Civilian (Cat 3) will pay the category 3 rate.

|Survivor Support Package Eligibility||The Survivors’ Family Program extends to Family Members and sponsored guests accompanying authorized users. Eligible users are defined as Family members who have suffered a loss of a sponsor in the event of an Active Duty death regardless of the cause (combat, accident, suicide, illness, etc.) and also may be uniformed personnel. A military identification card with “AD” in the Sponsor Service/Status field in combination with “DB” (DOD Beneficiary) or “Unremarried Widow” in the Relationship field on identification cards or a DD1300 must be presented at check-in confirming eligibility for the Survivors Discount Program. The benefits of this policy will be extended to Survivor Families of all Services based on appropriate identification. The Survivors Discount Program provides a 50 percent discount from normal room rates by applicable rate category. The discount applies to additional occupants and up to three guest rooms. In order for the Survivors Family discount to be extended, the Survivors’ Family Member must make and confirm reservations and be listed as the primary occupant.
Stays under the Survivor Family Program are limited to a maximum 14 nights in duration. Discounts are applicable on guest room(s) only and may be limited to certain Armed Forces Recreation Centers and time periods at the discretion of the General Manager. Discounts will not be extended to food, alcoholic beverages, tours, tickets and other recreational activities or retail sales. Discount cannot be combined with any other offer.
Other policies that apply to Guestroom Reservations:
A. Eligible persons may sponsor friends and family
B. Eligible persons may also share a room with a sponsored guest.
C. Dependents, other than the spouse, who have not attained the age of 18, must be accompanied by an eligible adult.
D. The hotel is not considered government quarters. Official travelers should contact their travel service for guidance on reimbursement.
E. Room reservations will not be accepted more than 365 days in advance.
F. When the hotel is 100-percent reserved, a waiting list will be established using the following priorities:

Authorized individuals and/or non-profit organizations are permitted to use the Hale Koa facilities provided one of the following conditions is met:
A. The sponsor ensures that the organization is composed predominantly of personnel authorized to use the hotel's food and beverage facilities.
B. The function is sponsored by a holder of an approved identification card, who assumes responsibility for payment of charges and ensures that the group is non-profit.
C. For non-profit groups or organizations without an authorized user serving as a sponsor, the General Manager or his designee determines that the affair will make a positive contribution to military-community relations or is of primary benefit to one or more of the Armed Services.
